Jornada 5 left plenty of talking points, with León continuing their perfect run at the top of the table after a hard‐fought 2–1 victory over Mazatlán. Both sides saw red in an ill‐tempered clash, but early goals from Emiliano Rigoni and E. Ayón were enough for León to stay unbeaten and secure their fifth consecutive win. Meanwhile, Club América turned heads by thumping Juárez 4–0 at the Azteca, vaulting them into second place. Toluca pulled off a solid result of their own, edging out Tigres 1–0, while Cruz Azul earned a narrow 3–2 triumph over Tijuana to keep pace with the frontrunners.
Elsewhere, Monterrey ground out a 1–0 win over Necaxa, and Pumas overcame a determined San Luis side 3–2 on the road. Puebla also made headlines by silencing Santos Laguna 2–0, complicating the Torreón club’s early‐season struggles at the foot of the table. With León sitting comfortably atop the standings, and sides like América, Tigres, and Pachuca chasing close behind, the race for the top spots is already heating up. We will be watching closely to see if León can maintain their unbeaten momentum—or if one of the other contenders can knock them off their perch in the upcoming rounds.
Looking ahead to Jornada 6, the weekend is packed with compelling fixtures, but León’s home clash against Toluca stands out as a must‐watch. Both teams have looked strong so far: León boasts a perfect record and a potent attack, while Toluca’s balanced approach and recent victory over Tigres show they can topple top‐tier opponents. A win for León would solidify their status as early‐season favorites, but Toluca has enough firepower to end León’s flawless start. Other matchups to keep an eye on include Puebla hosting a surging Club América, and Cruz Azul taking on Pachuca in a battle that could shape the middle of the table.

Reviving the Streak: Our Pick for Cruz Azul–Pachuca
Alright compas, we finally did it—we overcame that rough 0–3 start and hit our bet last week. It’s been a rollercoaster, but that’s part of the thrill, right? To everyone who stuck with me through the slump, thank you for the support. To those who faded me, I appreciate you just as much—you’re my motivation to tighten up my reads and keep pushing for those W’s.
Now, let’s talk Jornada 6 and why I’m rolling with another “both teams to score” (BTTS) pick, this time in the Cruz Azul vs. Pachuca matchup. Cruz Azul averages just over two goals per match (2.04) and concedes slightly under one (0.96). That’s a strong indicator of an attacking mentality—and at home, they’ve cranked it up a notch, boasting a 62% win rate with nearly three total goals per game (2.85). They also hit BTTS in half their fixtures, so even though they’re favorites, their open style often allows opponents to find the back of the net. Combine that with Pachuca’s 55% BTTS rate and 2.77 average total goals per match, and you have the makings of a wide‐open, end‐to‐end clash.
Sure, Pachuca doesn’t win all of their games, but they rarely get shut out completely—especially away, where they’ve managed to score in three of their last five. Cruz Azul, meanwhile, will be eager to maintain their recent unbeaten home run. These are two teams that love to push forward, and their numbers back it up. At around -140, BTTS is a line I’m more than comfortable grabbing. Let’s keep this momentum rolling—let’s cash another ticket.
