The Estadio Azteca will be ROCKIN' this weekend
Big-time clash in CDMX plus more Picks, Prop Bets, and memes for Jornada 10 of Liga MX!
We may be witnessing one of the greatest Liga MX campaigns of the modern era. Halfway through the Clausura and this is what the top of the table looks like:
Almost every Liga MX fan is having fun with this season…unless you’re one of the Juare-zerati boys. This weekend is no except with TWO huge matchups featuring the Big 4(5?!) teams, including El Clasico Joven (Chivas vs Cruz Azul) and Monterrey vs Pumas.
Though I know most true Liga MX fans are tuning in for the Mazatlan vs Necaxa barnbuner.
As always, you can join in on our Liga MX Quiniela FOR FREE. Seriously, it’s free money (if you know ball of course…)
PICKS of the WEEK:
#6 Toluca vs #5 Tigres (SAT 3pm PST)
Gignac vs Volpi. Marcel Ruiz vs Rafael Carioca.
These teams couldn’t be more evenly matched up if they tried. Sitting 5th and 6th in table with only 1 loss each to their name, this has to be the game of the week.
However, recent history suggests there should only be one winner here. Tigres have been the more successful team lately, but whenever they play in the Bombonera (Estdadio Nemesio Diez) they normally get dunked on.
Toluca has scored at least 3 goals in 4 of the last 5 times these teams have played in Toluca. Los Diablos are currently the 2nd highest scoring team in Liga MX (19 goals), so look for that trend to continue.
PREDICTION: Toluca 4-2 Tigres
#2 Cruz Azul vs #8 Chivas (SAT 5pm PST)
The game of the week can be found in Ciudad de Mexico on Saturday night as La Maquina hosts Chivas. Cruz Azul took a spill against Club America last week, but other than that, they've been ballin' -- winning 4 of their previous 5 games.
That's why they still find themselves (in maybe unfamiliar territory) on top of the table. They're expected to play well at home again, having only allowed 2 goals in 5 of their previous matches. This defensive effort has been led by Argentinian left-back, Gonzalo Piovi, who has started every match and has won a majority (62%) of his ground duels this season. He'll need to be up to the task this week as Chivas may have found their attacking groove having just netted three goals, including a goal from newcomer, Cade Cowell last week.
We need to see another week of a healthy Chicharito mixed into the attack to really believe in the Chivas, so let's roll with the home team favorite in the game.
PREDICTION: Cruz Azul 2-0 Chivas
#1 Monterrey vs #7 Pumas UNAM (SUN 5pm PST)
Another hot match that the Liga MX is cooking this match week. The current 1st place team in Monterrey facing up against a Pumas that have had a decent start to the season.
But the crazy fact is that since the inauguration of Monterrey’s current stadium, Estadio BBVA, Pumas have never won a game there as the visiting team. And this stadium has been used since 2015!
With Monterrey flying at the moment and Pumas coming off a tough loss vs Chivas, history will repeat itself and Pumas will have to wait yet another year to win at this stadium.
PREDICTION: Monterrey 2-1 Pumas

LOCKS of the WEEK:
Our team of cracks have put their heads together to deliver the ABSOLUTE best picks to tail for Liga MX action this weekend. Let us know on our IG if you jump on any of these selections.
Mazatlan vs Necaxa OVER 2.5 Goals (-130 odds)
Look, let's not overcomplicate things here...these teams have proven this season that they can score. Led by Luis Amarilla, Mazatlan has scored 2 goals in EACH of their last 3 home matches. As a road team, Necaxa has only been shut out in 1 of their 5 matches. Pair those two stats together and now we are feeling confident with this one. Take the over!
Atlas vs Club America UNDER 2.5 Goals (-115 odds)
These teams have hit the under 2.5 goals mark in 7 of their last 9 meetings dating back to 2020. Combine that with the fact that America has conceded the least amount of goals this season (5), there won’t be many goals in this one.
Pachuca to WIN versus Juarez (-172)
Idrissi, Rondon, Erick Sanchez, this Pachuca team is clicking everywhere. Having one of their best starts to the season in recent time. This Juarez team is dead last with only 2 points to their name. It would be shocking if Juarez secure any points out of this match. Pachuca cruise through Juarez at home.
FUN FACT of the WEEK:
Founded in 1892 by a group of miners, Pachuca are the first Mexican club to ever exist. They didn’t play their first professional game until 1901.
Good luck to everyone this week in the CABRA Quinielas.
