It’s almost time for the much-anticipated Clausura 2025, compas! The newly unveiled schedule confirms the first matchday kicks off on Friday, January 10, with Querétaro hosting Club América, followed by Mazatlán vs. Juárez and Tijuana vs. Toluca. Some other quality fixtures continue on Saturday, January 11, featuring San Luis vs. Tigres UANL, then Monterrey vs. Puebla, Guadalajara vs. Santos Laguna, and Cruz Azul vs. Atlas. Finally, Sunday, January 12 sees Pumas UNAM squaring off against Necaxa, completing the opening slate of Jornada 1.
Even before the opening whistle, the transfer buzz is heating up. The possibility of Mario Balotelli joining Cruz Azul remains one of the most talked-about rumors, while Toluca’s capture of Héctor Herrera has already raised the bar for other clubs eager to bolster their squads.
Adding to the transfer frenzy, reports suggest several other players—including Paulinho, Cade Cowell, Silva, Piris, and Fedorco—are on the radar of different Liga MX sides. Each move has the potential to reshape team lineups and amplify the drama leading into the tournament.

Off the field, fans were greeted with a recently leaked design for the Nike Mexico 2025 Total 90 jersey. According to the leak, the kit takes inspiration from the iconic T90 designs of the early 2000s, infusing modern fabric technology with a throwback aesthetic. I’m all down for throwbacks…but this ain’t it (I’ll probably still buy it tho because I’m a sicko).
