Yep, that’s right, after three matches La Máquina is on top of the table. The other team in Ciudad de Mexico has not faired as well, having lost to Tigres during the week 1-0. A banger from Marcelo Flores helped Tigres secure those three points against America. Other notable scores included Chivas winning 2-0 against Queretaro and Pubela & Leon sharing points in a high-scoring draw. Let’s dive into our top games this weekend!

CABRA PICKS of the WEEK:
Pumas vs Pachuca (Sunday, 4pm PST)
Pachuca Missing a Key Piece
One of the most exciting fixtures of the weekend. Two of the best teams in Liga MX will for sure be knocking for a Liguilla spot towards the end of the season. The current Concacaf champions, Pachuca, have had a shaky start to the season without their main man up top, Salomon Rondon. On the other hand, Pumas have a very exciting team and currently sit at 2nd place heading into Jornada 4. Without Rondon, I don't see how Pachuca can manage to win this game. They've only scored 2 goals so far without him in 3 games. Pumas have scored the 2nd most goals behind Cruz Azul and the fact they'll be playing at home makes me believe they'll come out on top.

CABRA PICKS of the WEEK:
Toluca vs Cruz Azul (Saturday, 8pm PST)
We Expect Goals In This Game
La Maquina has been on fire to start the season, proving that last year’s run to the Liga MX Final was no fluke. They currently are in 1st place in the table, the highest-scoring team in the league, and the only team yet to concede a goal. The signings of Andres Montaño and Giorgos Giakoumakis have hit the ground running as well, as Giakoumakis has 2 goals in his first 3 games with Cruz Azul. Toluca is also flying high at the moment, as they’re currently sitting 3rd in the table, also undefeated, and tied for the 2nd most goals in the league. With star Uruguayan winger Maxi Araujo coming back this week from his Copa America adventure, expect Los Diablos Rojos to give Cruz Azul lots of problems. These teams have hit the over 2.5 goals threshold in 9 of their last 12 meetings, and with the amount of attacking talent on display this time, don’t expect that trend to change.
Chris’ Lock of the Week: OVER 2.5 Goals (-105)
