Has an old gigante in Liga MX awoken?!
We're back once again with Picks, Prop Bets, and more for Jornada 7 of Liga MX!
The top three teams in Liga MX all did their thing last week and held serve with victories to keep them atop the table. However, the most dominant performance of Jornada 6 may be attributed to La Máquina and their 3-0 destruction of Atletico San Luis. Cruz Azul are now winners of FOUR straight games and find themselves just one point off the top three teams (Monterrey, America, and Tigres respectively).
Now, none of those wins came against top teams but they have a chance to prove they are for real this weekend when they host Tigres in CDMX. Keep reading below for our analysis and pick for that game!

PICKS of the WEEK:
#11 San Luis vs #17 Xolos (SAT 3pm PST)
This game is giving me drunk Tio at the Carne Asada vibes. Neither team has won a game in their previous 4 matches, but someone has to win this one...right??
Xolos have Carlos Gonzalez, and the striker has consistently received decent match ratings (7.7 & 7.6 in the past two matches). My heart wants to go Xolos, because a win is inevitable, but I can't overlook the fact that they haven't won an away match since 2023.
Prediction: San Luis 1-0 Xolos
#4 Cruz Azul vs #3 Tigres (SAT 7pm PST)
This battle between 3rd and 4th place at the Estadio Azul is without a doubt the game of the week. Both teams are undefeated in their last 5 games and are two of the Top-3 defenses in the league when it comes to goals conceded.
However, Cruz Azul is winless in their last 5 home games vs Tigres (0 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses). In fact, they only managed to score 1 goal in those 5 games. Cruz Azul may be in great form, but Tigres have their number. Pour one out for the Azulistas…again.
Prediction: Cruz Azul 1-2 Tigres
#1 Monterrey vs #9 Toluca (SUN 6pm PST)
The last game of Jornada 7 will not fail to disappoint. Two of the best squads in Liga MX, featuring 1 of the only undefeated teams left in Monterrey. This game also showcases some of the best midfielders in the league: Marcel Ruiz, Jordi Cortizo, and Sergio Canales.
The Estadio BBVA has been a nightmare for Toluca in recent years. Los Diablos Rojos haven't secured a victory in Monterrey since 2016. Yes, 8 years since they last beat Los Rayados at their stadium. With Monterrey being undefeated and having momentum on their side, Toluca will unfortunately gain no points this weekend. Monterrey comes out on top in a close battle.
Prediction: Monterrey 3-2 Toluca
LOCKS of the WEEK:
Our team of cracks have put their heads together to deliver the ABSOLUTE best picks to tail for Liga MX action this weekend. Let us know on our IG if you jump on any of these selections.
Pachuca vs Club America OVER 2.5 Goals (-128)
Whenever these teams meet, it rains goals. They’ve gone OVER 2.5 goals in 20 of their last 26 meetings. In fact, in 13 of those games (50%) they combined for 4+ goals. Keep in mind, Pachuca is currently the 2nd-highest scoring team in the league; while America has the most expensive attack in the league.
Queretaro & Necaxa BOTH to Score (-150)
Queretaro has been finishing at home this season, having scored every time in front of their fans so far. That paired with the fact that in the last 5 matches for Necaxa, 4 of those games have ended with both teams scoring makes this an intriguing bet. Necaxa has proven its ability to score, but also has a leaky defense that can't seem to keep clean sheets consistently. Both teams should find the back of the net in this one.
Pumas vs Santos OVER 2.5 Goals (-150)
The Pumas striker “Memo" Martinez has finally settled in his at his new club, scoring 3 goals in his last 2 games for Pumas. We can't forget he was the highest scoring Mexican player in Liga MX last season. And with the creativity of Chino Huerta, Pumas’s attack is stacked. Santos on the other hand, is a vulnerable defense against good strikers, as they’ve conceded the 2nd most goals this season and are 15th in the Liga MX table.
MEME of the WEEK:
FUN FACT of the WEEK:
Pachuca is currently the highest scoring team in the league (14 goals), but has also conceded the 2nd most goals in the league (13 goals).
Good luck to everyone this week in the CABRA Quinielas.
