Are the wheels coming off for Club América?!
Your boys are back with Picks, Prop Bets, and more for Jornada 6 of Liga MX!
We need to talk about Las Aguilas. After starting their Liga MX campaign with three straight wins, they’ve drawn their last two fixtures (against Necaxa and Monterrey respectively). Then, this happened.
Is this a momentary lapse in form or signs of more trouble ahead for Club América? Check out our picks below to see where we’re leaning.
Timothee Chalamet is invited to the Carne Asada
It’s all vibes for Dune star Timothee Chalamet as he recently dropped some serious ball knowledge talking about the Mexico - France futbol connection. We had no idea Paul Atreides is a Tigres fan?!
PICKS of the WEEK:
#5 Cruz Azul vs #11 San Luis (SAT 5:05pm PST)
Last season's Cinderella story, San Luis, visits one of the most in-form teams in the league, Cruz Azul, on Saturday Night. This game will be on at the same time as Leon vs America, but if you want to see goals scored, tune into this one. These teams combine for a 61% chance that this game goes over 2.5 goals (55% is the Liga MX average).
La Máquina currently sits top 4 in the table and has won their past three matches. Things have been going the exact opposite for San Luis as they've lost their past three matches. Let's not get fooled by these recent forms, because Cruz Azul has only narrowly escaped some lower teams and San Luis has had the stronger schedule. Keeping that in mind, a desperate San Luis team will not be leaving Ciudad de Mexico without at least a point.
Prediction: Draw 2 - 2
#12 Santos vs #4 Tigres (SAT 7:10pm PST)
A partidazo is cooking up in Torreón! Tigres are coming into this unbeaten and with an impressive away record. Not only that, but Santos’ best player last season Juan Brunetta is back at his old home stadium as a Tigres player. I
t hasn’t been the best start to the season for Santos as they’ve only won 1 game (vs Puebla). They might have the leagues best scorer last season (Preciado) but it won’t be enough to secure some points vs Tigres. Cordova will have another masterclass performance for Tigres.
Prediction: Santos 1-2 Tigres
#13 León vs #3 Club América (SAT 5pm PST)
On paper this looks like a walk in the park for Club América. They’re the defending champions, one of 4 teams this season who are undefeated, have conceded the least amount of goals in the league (1), while León have conceded the most goals (11).
However, America has only won 1 game in their last 11 trips to Estadio León. Also, Las Aguilas are coming off an embarrassing loss to Nicaraguan-club Real Esteli in their Champions Cup game a few days ago. Leon may be struggling, but recent history shows they have America’s number in Guanajuato.
Prediction: Leon 2-1 Club America

LOCKS of the WEEK:
Our team of cracks have put their heads together to deliver the ABSOLUTE best picks to tail for Liga MX action this weekend. Let us know on our IG if you jump on any of these selections.
Necaxa vs Toluca, Both Teams to Score / No Draw (+125)
This is a battle between two top 10 teams, not only in points but also in goals per match scored this season. Nexaca ranks 7th in goals scored (1.6 goals per game) and Toluca ranks 1st (2.6 goals per game). Therefore, we should expect each team to find the back of the net. Necaxa is also playing at home and desperate for a win after having drawn their last three matches.
That combined with the fact that Toluca does not play well away from La Bombonera which makes this a great value at plus (+) odds.
Chivas to beat Juarez ML (-155)
Chivas are starting to catch some form with new manager Gago. Los rojiblancos also secured a win during the week in the Concacaf Champions Cup to add fuel to the fire. Fc Juarez doesn’t have a win this season and it will definitely not come at Estadio Akron.
Chivas’ new player Cade Cowell just scored a brace throughout the week as well and is coming into this game with full confidence.
Monterrey vs Pachuca OVER 2.5 goals (-128 odds)
This is a battle between the top-2 teams in the table and also 2 of the top-3 teams with the most goals scored. However, Pachuca also love to concede goals for fun with 8 goals conceded, which is tied for the most amongst teams in the Top-11.
